Cypress, Texas (April 10, 2019) – A student was struck and injured by a driver who fled the scene after the incident on Tuesday afternoon in Cypress, according to police.

The accident occurred on West Road near Aragon Middle School at about 4 p.m. April 9.

Police said the student was trying to cross West Road when they were hit by a vehicle.

The driver failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver was operating a blue or green four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla. The vehicle may have a missing passenger side mirror.

The crash is under investigation.
