Boy Hospitalized after Baytown Pedestrian Accident on West Baker Road

Baytown, Texas (April 10, 2019) – A boy was flown to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Baytown on Tuesday afternoon, Baytown police said.

The auto-pedestrian collision occurred in the 3500 block of West Baker Road around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 9.

Baytown police said the 5-year-old boy seems to have wandered away from home and was trying to cross the road when a Nissan Juke struck him.

The victim sustained head and leg injuries and was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The extent of his injuries was unknown.

The driver of the Nissan stayed at the scene after the accident.

Police said intoxication was unlikely a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
