Samuel Joseph Laurence ID’d as Man Killed in West Austin Car Crash on U.S. Highway 290

Austin, Texas (May 1, 2019) – The man who was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Tuesday morning in West Austin has been identified as Samuel Joseph Laurence, 31, of Driftwood, according to the Texas Department of Transportation officials.

The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. April 30, on U.S. Highway 290.

The ATCEMS said multiple cars collided in the 11100 block of West U.S. Highway 290. The events leading up to the crash were not immediately established.

Laurence was pinned in one of the vehicles and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three other people were taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, two of them with serious injuries and the other had critical injuries.

The crash caused a closure of the highway in both directions as the scene was examined and cleared.

The authorities are investigating the incident.
