Person Dies in Edinburg Pedestrian Crash on Monte Cristo Road near Alamo Road

Edinburg, Texas (April 14, 2019) – A person was struck and killed by a vehicle in Edinburg on Saturday morning, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred on Monte Cristo Road west of Alamo Road  at about 6:15 a.m. April 13.

The DPS report showed that a brown 2003 Dodge Ram was going east on Monte Cristo Road when it hit a pedestrian who was walking south across the road.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

DPS said the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The identities of the pedestrian and the driver involved were not immediately released.

The crash is under investigation.
