Margarita Garcia, Jorge Garcia and Kamila Juarez Killed in El Paso Crash on Highway

El Paso, Texas (April 14, 2019) – A one-year-old girl was among three people killed in a head-on collision that happened near Orla in El Paso on Saturday morning, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The wreck took place on U.S. Highway 62/180 at about 10:30 a.m. April 13.

DPS said Jose Torres, 41, of Hatch, New Mexico, was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram eastbound on the highway when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2002 Dodge Caravan.

Three occupants of the Dodge Caravan, identified as Margarita Garcia, 39, Jorge Garcia, 19, and Kamila Juarez, 1, all of El Paso, were killed in the collision.

Torres and his passenger, Pablo Rodriguez Aguilar, 28, of El Paso, were not hurt in the crash.

The authorities are working to determine the cause of the wreck.
