Man Killed in North Austin Pedestrian Crash on North Lamar Boulevard

Austin,  Texas (may 2, 2019) – A person was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday morning in North Austin, according to Austin police.

The accident happened in the 8700 block of North Lamar Boulevard near Rundberg Lane at about 6:10 a.m.

Police said a man was trying to cross North Lamar Boulevard when a small dark pickup truck heading north struck him. The driver then fled the scene after the incident.

The victim, a Hispanic man in his 40s, was taken to a hospital,  where he was pronounced deceased.

The Austin Police Department is investigating the incident.
