Mineral Wells Man Jeremy Johnson Dies in Angelina County Accident on FM 1669

Angelina County, Texas (May 16, 2019) – A Mineral Wells man was killed when a vehicle he was driving collided with an object that fell from an 18-wheeler near Huntington in Angelina County Wednesday evening.

According to the DPS, the wreck happened at about 6:20 p.m. May 15, on FM 1669.

DPS said an 18-wheeler transporting oil field equipment was heading northbound on FM 1669 when a piece of an unsecured load fell off and flew into the southbound lanes. The piece struck a truck that was being driven by Jeremy Johnson, 38, of Mineral Wells.

Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, identified as Jonathan Keller, 41, was not injured.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
