51-Year-Old William Wileman Killed in Sulphur Springs Train Crash on Locust Street

Sulphur Springs, Texas (May 16, 2019) – A 51-year-old bicyclist was fatally hit by a train as he pushed his bike across the tracks in Sulphur Springs Friday evening, according to the authorities.

The incident took place shortly after 5 p.m. May 10, on Locust Street.

The authorities said William Wileman, 51, of Sulphur Springs, had been riding a bicycle when he got off and tried to push it across the train tracks. In the process, Wileman was hit by the train.

Wileman was taken to Christus Mother Francis-Sulphur Springs, where he was later pronounced deceased.

No one else was hurt in the collision.
