James Michael Evans Killed in Kilgore Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 20

Kilgore, Texas (June 1, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a truck accident early Friday morning in Kilgore, according to a local news source.

The crash was reported at about 2:00 a.m. May 31, on Interstate 20.

According to the authorities, a pickup truck was traveling along Interstate 20 when it developed a mechanical fault. The driver and the passenger in the pickup were pushing the vehicle to a safer area when a westbound tractor-trailer struck one of them.

The victim, identified as James Michael Evans, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The occupants of the tractor-trailer were not injured.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
