Hayden Weissman, Payton Weissman Killed in Fatal Kyle Car Crash on Windy Hill Road and I-35

Kyle, Texas (April 29, 2019) – The two teenage sisters who were killed in a fatal hit-and-run collision on Saturday night in Kyle have been identified.

Hayden Weissman, 18, and Payton Weissman, 16,  died in the incident that took place at about 9:20 p.m. April 27, on Windy Hill Road and I-35.

Police said a sedan carrying a family and a friend was hit by a pickup truck.

Hayden and Payton were among the passengers in the sedan. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupants of the sedan, the girls’ father, sister and their friend, were all taken to a hospital for treatment. There was no update on their conditions.

The driver who was suspected to have caused the collision fled the scene after the incident. Police later located the suspect, identified as Macario M. Hernandez, 61, of Buda. He was arrested and booked into the Hays County Jail on charges of accident causing death and accident causing bodily injury.

The crash is currently under investigation.
