Cesar Trevino ID’d as Driver Killed in Duval County Car Accident on U.S. Route 59

Duval County, Texas (April 27, 2019) – The driver who was killed in an accident involving multiple vehicles in Duval County Thursday night has been identified as Cesar Israel Trevino, 42, of Laredo, according to a police report.

The crash took place just before 7 p.m. April 25, on U.S. Route 59.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2018 Ford F-250 was traveling southwest on US 59 when the driver failed to stop for traffic in a construction zone and slammed into the rear of a stopped 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Trevino. The impact pushed the Explorer into a 2020 Kenworth truck tractor-trailer that was also stopped in traffic.

Trevino was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two drivers sustained serious injuries. The driver of the F-250 was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice while the other driver was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi.

The DPS is investigating the incident.
