Michael Joice ID’d as Man Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Grand Parkway

Harris County, Texas (May 26, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a vehicle after running out of gas on a freeway in Harris County early Saturday morning has been identified as Michael Joice, 30.

According to a report by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on the Grand Parkway (Highway 99) near the Telge exit ramp on Saturday, May 25.

Deputies said Joice and his wife were traveling eastbound on the Grand Parkway when their car ran out of gas.

Joice stepped out to get help but the passenger stayed in. As he tried to wave down an F-150, Joice was struck by the truck.

Joice was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the F-150 sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the collision.
