Drivers Injured in Amarillo Car Crash on Hillside Road and Canyon Drive

Amarillo, Texas (April 27, 2019) – An 18-year-old pregnant woman and a 37-year-old woman were taken to hospital in critical condition after a three-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon in Amarillo, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

The crash took place at about 3:00 p.m. April 25, on Hillside Road and Canyon Drive.

The police said a 56-year-old man from Amarillo was driving a Ford Focus east in the westbound lanes of Hillside when he struck a Ford Explorer head-on, then spun and hit a Honda SUV, driven by the 18-year-old pregnant woman. The 37-year-old woman was driving the Ford Explorer.

All three drivers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Two of them remained in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the Focus was intoxicated at the time of the crash and charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
