Amarillo, Texas (April 9, 2019) – A toddler died after being involved in a car accident that happened on Sunday in Amarillo.

According to the police, the crash occurred on I-27 on Sunday, April 8.

Police said a 21-year-old woman driving a 2003 Ford Taurus was stopped in the left lane with a flat tire when she was rear-ended by a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. The impact caused the Hyundai to spin and it ended up colliding head-on with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 24-year-old woman.

A 2-month-old girl was a passenger in the Ford. The girl died of injuries sustained in the crash.

A second child and a 19-year-old man who were also passengers in the Ford were taken to a the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Police are investigating the deadly wreck.
