Kyle, Texas (April 9, 2019) – A 41-year-old rider was killed in a motorcycle collision involving a vehicle in Kyle on Sunday night, according to Kyle police.

The crash was reported at about 10:17 p.m. Sunday, April 7, on southbound Interstate 35.

Police said Edward Ortiz Jr., 41, of Kyle, was riding a motorcycle when he crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler trailer. The rider got pinned underneath the trailer and was dragged approximately 200 feet on the highway.

The report showed that Ortiz Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The Kyle Police Department is investigating the wreck.
