Harris County, Texas (April 9, 2019) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in northeast Harris County on Monday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision happened just before 10 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the 4800 block of Aldine Mail Route.

Deputies said Laquria Williams, 27, was walking to a nearby store with her sister-in-law when she was hit by an SUV as she attempted to cross the street. The driver of the vehicle stopped momentarily after the crash but then fled the scene.

According to the report, Williams was killed in the crash.

Deputies said the suspect was operating a vehicle believed to be a white or silver Chevy Trailblazer. The front driver’s side headlight may have been damaged by the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
