One Hospitalized after New Braunfels DUI Crash on Loop 337

New Braunfels, Texas (May 5, 2019) – A person was hospitalized after being involved in a suspected DUI crash on Saturday night in New Braunfels, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened just before 10:40 p.m. May 4, in the 1200 block of Texas Loop 337.

Police said a 2009 Chevrolet pickup was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the loop when it collided head-on with an oncoming Mazda.

A passenger in the Mazda sustained serious injuries and also had to be extricated by the fire crews.

The victim was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center and was listed in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the Chevrolet was determined to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. The driver was arrested on charges of intoxication assault.

The crash is under investigation.
