40-Year-Old Nakishia Samuels Injured in Lufkin Car Crash on Timberland Drive

Lufkin, Texas (May 5, 2019) – A 40-year-old driver was injured in a collision involving a patrol vehicle at the scene of an earlier crash on Saturday afternoon in Lufkin, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. May 4, on Timberland Drive.

The authorities said a police officer was working at the site of an earlier collision when a 2006 Toyota SUV driven by Nakishia Samuels, 40, left the roadway and crashed into the patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle then hit the officer, who was standing next to it.

The police officer was airlifted to UT Tyler with unknown injuries. The officer was reportedly conscious and alert during the transport.

Samuels was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial Lufkin.

The authorities are investigating the accident.
