William Bowles Among 3 Killed in Chambers County Boat Crash near Old and Lost River and Cross Bayou

Chambers County, Texas (June 25, 2019) – One of the three victims killed in a boat crash Sunday night in Chambers County has been identified as William Bowles, 36, of Bayton, according to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported around 7:31 p.m. June 23, in the area of Old and Lost River and Cross Bayou.

Deputies said a large ski boat and a bass boat with seven people on board were involved in the collision.

Bowles and two other people on the bass boat died in the wreck. Three other people were airlifted to a hospital while one person was taken by ambulance. A seventh victim was treated at the scene.

Five people riding on the ski boat were treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the ski boat was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter.

The incident is under investigation.
