Two Injured in Northeast Houston Car Crash on Maxey Road

Houston, Texas (May 16, 2019) – At least two people were hospitalized after a traffic collision overnight Thursday in northeast Houston, police said.

The incident was reported at around midnight on Maxey Road near Wallisville Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, a driver in a black truck may have run a red light at the intersection and crashed into a red sedan. The impact pushed the sedan into an 18-wheeler and it became pinned under the big rig.

The emergency crews had to extricate the drivers of the pickup and the car, which were badly damaged in the wreck.

The two drivers were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
