Humble Man Steven West Injured in Polk County Traffic Accident on Highway 59
Polk County, Texas (May 15, 2019) – A Humble man was injured when his vehicle collided with a big rig on Monday afternoon in Polk County, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
The collision occurred at about 2:30 p.m. May 13, on U.S. Highway 59.
DPS said Tom Moravee, 49, of Pasadena, was driving a 2016 Freightliner truck northbound on U.S. Highway 59 when one left rear tire came off and caused the driver to lose control.
The truck drifted across the center median into the opposite lanes and it collided with a 2019 Volkswagen passenger car.
The driver of the car, Steven West, 67, of Humble, was airlifted to a hospital in Houston for treatment. His passenger was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial in Livingston.
No other injuries were reported.
The DPS is investigating the incident.
