Arlington Police Officer Injured in Arlington Bicycle Crash on North Collins Street

Arlington, Texas (May 13, 2019) – A police officer was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in Arlington, according to the authorities.

The accident occurred at about 12:45 a.m. May 12, in the 800 block of North Collins Street.

Police said the officer was on a marked patrol bicycle responding to a call and was trying to cross Collins Street westbound when they were hit by a northbound dark-colored sports utility vehicle.

The officer was ejected into the roadway by the impact of the crash.

The officer was transported to Medical City Arlington for treatment and was later released.

The driver of the SUV failed to stop and render aid.

The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
