Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Crash on Westheimer near South Kirkwood

Houston, Texas (April 11, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in west Houston on Wednesday night, according to police.

The crash happened at about 9 p.m. April 10, in the 11900 block of Westheimer near South Kirkwood.

Police said the woman was trying to cross the street outside of a crosswalk when a red Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Westheimer struck her.

The impact threw the woman onto the trunk of the Dodge and was carried several blocks before the vehicle stopped.

The victim died in the accident.

The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene after the accident.

Police are working to determine whether intoxication played a role in the incident.
