Seth Thompson ID’d as Police Officer Airlifted after Lufkin Car Crash on Timberland Drive

Lufkin, Texas (May 5, 2019) – The police officer who was struck and injured by a vehicle while at the scene of an earlier crash on Saturday afternoon in Lufkin has been identified as Officer Seth Thompson, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. May 4, on Timberland Drive.

The authorities said Officer Thompson was working at the site of an earlier collision when a 2006 Toyota SUV left the roadway and crashed into the patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle then hit Officer Thompson, who was standing next to it. The vehicles involved in the earlier collision were pulled into the parking lot of the Cox Muffler.

Thompson was airlifted to UT Tyler with unknown injuries. The officer was reportedly conscious and alert during the transport.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial Lufkin.

The authorities are investigating the accident.
