Daniel Rodriguez ID’d as Police Officer Injured in El Paso Motorcycle Crash on Zaragoza Road and Roseann Court

El Paso, Texas (May 24, 2019) – The police officer who was injured in a car crash with a motorcycle on Thursday morning in East El Paso has been identified as Officer Daniel Rodriguez, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at about 10 a.m. May 23, on Zaragoza Road and Roseann Court.

The authorities said Officer Rodriguez was part of a funeral procession riding a motorcycle northbound on Zaragoza Road when he was struck by an SUV that cut through.

Rodriguez was taken to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Authorities said Rodriguez is stable following a surgery he underwent.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
