Officer Claudia Cormier Injured, Neil Sheehan Arrested after San Marcos Crash on Highway 35
San Marcos, Texas (May 20, 2019) – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a crash that injured a San Marcos Police Department officer on Saturday night in San Marcos, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:45 p.m. May 18, on Interstate Highway 35, north of the McCarty overpass.
The authorities said Officer Claudia Cormier was responding to a call of an object in the roadway when she was hit by a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Neil Sheehan, 58, of Flower Mound.
Neil Sheehan was arrested on charges of intoxication assault and failure to slow down causing bodily injury.
Cormier was transported to Seton-Hays Hospital in Kyle, where she underwent emergency surgery. She was reportedly in stable condition.
The crash is under investigation.
