Matthew Waters Dies in Austin Motorcycle Accident on East Oltorf Street

Austin, Texas (June 13, 2019) – A man was killed in a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Monday afternoon in South Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

The collision happened at about 3:50 p.m. June 10, in the 500 block of East Oltorf Street.

Police said a silver 2016 Toyota Tundra was heading west on East Oltorf Street when he tried to avoid a stopped vehicle and drifted into the path of oncoming traffic. The Tundra collided with an eastbound 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The rider, identified as Matthew Waters, 53, was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Austin Police Department is investigating the crash.
