Man Killed and Three Others Hurt in West Austin Car Crash on U.S. Highway 290

Austin, Texas (April 30, 2019) – A man was killed and three others injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Tuesday morning in West Austin, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on U.S. Highway 290.

The EMS said multiple cars collided in the 11100 block of West U.S. Highway 290. The events leading up to the crash were not immediately established.

One man was pinned in one of the vehicles and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three other people were taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

The crash caused a closure of the highway in both directions as the scene was examined and cleared.

The authorities are investigating the incident.
