Child Killed in Orange County Traffic Crash on FM 104
Orange County, Texas (April 25, 2019) – A child was killed in a collision involving two vehicles in Orange County on Wednesday night, according to the authorities.
The wreck took place on FM 105 at the intersection of Lakeview Cutoff at around 8 p.m. April 24.
Police said Tabitha Butler, 39, of Lumberton, was driving a Kia passenger vehicle northbound on FM 105 when she tried to make a left turn onto Lakeview and was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck that was traveling southbound.
An 11-year-old child who was a passenger in the Kia sustained major injuries. The child was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth in Beaumont and was later pronounced deceased. Tabitha was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Ricky Brashier, 41, of Vidor, suffered serious injuries and was also transported to St. Elizabeth hospital.
The authorities are currently investigating the deadly crash.
