Temple Man Jesse Uhrig Dies in Bell County Car Crash on Mills Lane near Highway 95

Bell County, Texas (April 25, 2019) – The man who was killed in a collision between a vehicle and a train on Thursday morning near Holland in Bell County has been identified as Jesse Uhrig, 36, of Temple, according to the authorities.

The crash was reported shortly before 11 a.m. on the train tracks at Mills Lane just off Highway 95.

DPS said a 2007 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound when it crossed the train tracks and in the path of a train, leading to the crash.

Uhrig was identified as the driver of the Ford. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The train was carrying 177 passengers at the time of the crash. No one on the train was hurt.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
