Fabens ISD Teacher Heriberto Santillana Dies in Tornillo Car Crash on Alameda Avenue
Tornillo, Texas (April 21, 2019) – A Fabens ISD teacher was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck in Tornillo on Friday afternoon, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision occurred in the 18800 block of Alameda Avenue at about 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, a maroon Chrysler 300 was heading west on Alameda Avenue when it crashed into a white Dodge Ram pickup truck that was making a turn at Oil Mill Drive. The impact pushed the Chrysler into the eastbound lanes and it collided head-on with an eastbound Suzuki Forenza driven by Heriberto ‘Eddie’ Santillana, 51.
Santillana was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:30 p.m.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the collision.
