Zavala Man Bernard Charles Kifer III Killed in Nacogdoches County Pedestrian Crash on Highway 59 South

Nacogdoches County, Texas (May 10, 2019) – A man form Zavala was killed in an auto-pedestrian collision that took place on Tuesday night in Nacogdoches County, according to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened on Highway 59 South around 10 p.m. May 7.

The deputies said Bernard Charles Kifer III, 32, of Zavalla, was allegedly darting in and out of the roadway when he was struck by two vehicles.

Kifer was taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

No details were provided on the drivers involved.

The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
