Police Officer Among 3 Injured in Waco Car Crash at Hewitt Drive and Imperial Avenue

Waco, Texas (April 26, 2019) – A Waco police officer was injured in a collision between two vehicles late Thursday night in Waco, according to the authorities.

The incident, which took place at the Hewitt Drive and Imperial Avenue intersection, happened at about 11:25 p.m. April 25.

The authorities said the police officer was driving a Chevy Tahoe northbound on Hewitt Drive when it was struck on its driver’s side rear by a vehicle going west on Imperial Avenue.

The impact caused the Chevy to roll over and it came to a rest on its top.

The female officer was trapped in the wreckage and was freed by another officer who responded to the incident.

The officer was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest for treatment of minor injuries. The two people riding in the second vehicle were also treated for minor injuries.

Police cited the driver of the civilian vehicle.
