Driver Killed in Argus Accident on Interstate 45

Argus, Texas (April 12, 2019) – A driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Argus, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.

The crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. April 10, on northbound Interstate 45.

The police said a 2005 Volvo truck tractor that was stopped because of a construction directing traffic to merge from three to two lanes. For an unknown reason, a white 2017 Dodge Ram utility truck that was northbound on Interstate Highway 45 in the centre lane behind the tractor, failed to control speed and rear-ended the semi-trailer.

The driver of the Dodge truck was transported to Navarro Regional Hospital by ambulance. The driver later died from the injuries in the hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash is still under investigation.
