Deacon Manuel Luevano Dies After Odessa Car Accident on 51st Street and Clover Avenue

Odessa, Texas ( May 15, 2019) – A deacon who had been hospitalized following a hit-and-run crash that took place in March in Odessa has succumbed to his injuries, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened March 4 on 51st Street and Clover Avenue.

According to the report, a vehicle that was carrying suspects of a burglary incident at a nearby Smoker’s Outlet was speeding down the street when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of  51st Street and Clover Avenue.

The suspect’s vehicle crashed into a car which was being operated by Deacon Manuel Luevano, 72.

Luevano was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries about two months later.

The suspects involved in the crash fled the scene after the incident.

Police are still investigating the incident.
