Luz Lopez Dies in Moore County Car Crash at FM 119 and FM 2203

Moore County, Texas (May 6, 2019) – A three-vehicle collision left one of the drivers dead on Friday afternoon in Moore County, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred at the intersection of FM 119 and FM 2203, approximately two miles north of Dumas at about 1:40 p.m. May 3.

The DPS report said that Luz Lopez, 24, of Dumas, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on FM 2203 when she stopped at the intersection of FM 119. Lopez then failed to yield and entered the intersection.

The Silverado was struck on its side by a 2008 Mack Conventional truck tractor with no towed unit. The tractor was going east on FM 119 and was being operated by John Coil, 54, of Pampa. The vehicles then clipped a 2008 Ford Explorer, which was being driven westbound on FM 119 by Lisa Trisler, 41, of Hooker, Oklahoma.

Lopez was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other drivers were not injured in the collision.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
