Jose Garza Killed in Edinburg Car Accident on FM 1925

Edinburg, Texas (May 17, 2019) – A 56-year-old Edcouch man was among two people killed in a two-vehicle accident that took place early Friday morning near Edinburg, the DPS said.

The collision occurred at about 5:25 a.m. on FM 1925 east of Cesar Chavez Road.

DPS said a man was driving a Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on westbound FM 1925 when he collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jose Garza, 56.

Both Garza and the driver of the Suburban were killed in the crash.

A passenger in the pickup was transported to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg with non-critical injuries.

The collision is under investigation.
