58-Year-Old Man Dies in Orange County Truck Crash on Interstate 10

Orange County, Texas (April 18, 2019) – A man was killed in a collision between two vehicles on Wednesday afternoon in Orange County, according to the DPS.

The wreck occurred at about 4:30 p.m. April 17, on Interstate 10 near mile marker 858.

DPS said a dump truck going westbound on Interstate 10 lost its control after one tire blew out. The truck slammed into a Ford flatbed truck before crashing into a concrete wall and caught fire.

The driver of the Ford was identified as a Houston man aged 52. The driver was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The other driver was taken to a Galveston hospital with serious injuries and burns.

The identities of the two drivers were not immediately released by the DPS.

An investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.
