Kempner Man Douglas Wheeler Killed in Lampasas Bicycle Crash on FM 2527

Lampasas, Texas (May 21, 2019) – A man from Kempner died in an accident where a truck struck him while riding a bicycle on Sunday afternoon in Lampasas.

According to a report by the DPS, the collision occurred on FM 2527, just north of FM 580 at around 12:15 p.m. May 19.

Police said Douglas wheeler, 19, of Kempner was riding his bicycle along FM 2527 when he was rear-ended by a southbound 2003 Chevrolet pickup driven by Curtis Windham Sr., 68, of Lampasas.

Wheeler was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Windham was not injured.

The DPS is investigating the incident.
