Woman Killed,  Brandon Lehman Arrested after Houston Pedestrian Crash on Westheimer near South Kirkwood

Houston, Texas (April 11, 2019) – A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run after a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in west Houston on Wednesday night, according to the police.

The crash happened at about 9 p.m. April 10, in the 11900 block of Westheimer near South Kirkwood.

Police said a woman was trying to cross the street outside of a crosswalk when a red Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Westheimer Road struck her.

The impact threw the woman onto the trunk of the Dodge and was carried several blocks before the vehicle stopped.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, died in the accident. Her identity was not immediately released.

The driver of the Dodge, identified as Brandon Lehman, was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxicated manslaughter, police said.
