Rider Dies in Harris County Bicycle Crash on North Freeway near Airtex

Houston, Texas (June 7, 2019) – A bicycle rider was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Thursday morning in Harris County, according to the deputies.

The collision took place just before 5:30 a.m. on the North Freeway just south of the Airtex Drive.

Deputies said the rider may have been exiting the freeway when a vehicle struck him, according to a preliminary investigation.

The victim died at the scene of the collision.

There was no immediate description of the vehicle involved.

The crash remained under investigation.
