Alejandro Chavez Killed, 1 Injured in Wilmer Car Crash on Interstate 45 near Wintergreen Road
Wilmer, Texas (April 10, 2019) – One person was killed and another injured in a wrong-way car accident on Friday morning in Wilmer, according to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place at about 4:30 a.m. April 5, on Interstate 45 near Wintergreen Road.
Police said a car that was going southbound in the northbound lanes of the interstate slammed into an oncoming car and one of the vehicles overturned.
One person, later identified as Alejandro Chavez, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
A section of northbound Interstate 45 was shut down shortly for the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
