61-Year-Old Macario Hernandez Arrested after Fatal Kyle Car Crash on Windy Hill Road and I-35

Kyle, Texas (April 28, 2019) – A 61-year-old man was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run collision that left two teenagers dead on Saturday night in Kyle, according to Kyle police.

The incident took place at about 9:20 p.m. April 27, on Windy Hill Road and I-35.

Police said a sedan was hit by a pickup truck.

Two passengers in the sedan, both females aged 16 and 18, were both pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The driver who was suspected to have caused the collision fled the scene after the incident. Police later located the suspect, identified as Macario M. Hernandez, 61, of Buda. He was arrested and booked into the Hays County Jail on charges of accident causing death and accident causing bodily injury.

The crash is currently under investigation.
