One Dies in Houston Multi-Vehicle Accident at Beechnut Street and South Gessner Road

Houston, Texas (May 18, 2019) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision at an intersection in Houston early Saturday morning.

According to the police, the wreck happened at Beechnut Street and South Gessner Road shortly before 1:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a driver in a red Nissan pickup truck was speeding when he failed to stop for a red light and struck a black pickup truck and a minivan.

The impact ejected the driver of the Nissan. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other involved parties were expected to be okay, police said.

Another driver passing by the scene almost struck the officers who were investigating the crash. That driver was arrested and charged with DUI.

The collision remained under investigation.
